Great Gradients--Love this yummy cake
One of our most popular items began as a Yarn In The Box original. Because of the nature of the amount of work that goes into making a “true” gradient, we have never wholesaled this product to any LYS ever. The base of this cake is made from our Frolicking Feet fingering weight yarn. 500 yards gives an ample one-skein project or an awesome project like The Saints Rest New Brunswick Shawl by Allison Barrett of St. John, New Brunswick. Pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/saints-rest-new-brunswick-shawl or the popular Hope Springs by Leedra Scott Pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hope-springs-2
Great Gradients is available in 10 colorways and probably will find 3 or 4 new colorways debuting at some of our summer shows. Check all the colorways out here: https://doneroving.com/product-category/great-gradients/
Let’s talk one skein projects–A favorite because of its garter and lace construction is Jen Lucas’ Yingarna Pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/yingarna and the elegant Down The Garden Path by Susan Gressman Pattern: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/down-the-garden-path-3
If you haven’t knit with a gradient, you just have to try it once. I love to add it to a contrasting colorway and let the gradients be gradual block of tones that add a gradation of color work in between the contrast color. Oh my, the possibilities are endless. We will have to explore more again soon.
